Mike Vickers – living in Linlithgow. Linlithgow is a pleasant old town between Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland with a ruined palace where Mary Queen of Scots was born. I love the nearness to Edinburgh as I take advantage of the great music, theatres, galleries and walk the townscape; but here in Linlithgow there are simple walks to get into the country and get a little exercise. I am a member of the Civic Trust, the Linlithgow Business Association and the Linlithgow Union Canal Society. The canal was reopened as a Millennium project and has a rotating boat wheel connecting two of its sections at Falkirk – its the only one of its kind in the World. But as ever money is short and the canal is reeding over and we are fund raising to build a work boat to maintain it – no lack of volunteers but just a lack of money.
Oh and we have a small software application business helping small businesses to help themselves to do what they do best through improved efficiency and effectiveness.
